Mandarin Essential Oil
Origin ArgentinaThe mandarin is a citrus fruit in the green, sweet and slightly acid flavours very appreciated and very sought in the perfume industry. The mandarin is the fruit of a shrub in the dark green foliage native of South-East Asia: the mandarin tree. Today, the mandarin tree is cultivated in Southern Europe and in South America. The essential oil of mandarin is present in the skin of the fruit. There are several types of mandarins (yellow, red, green) according to the geographical zone where it grows and of the period when it is harvested. In Argentina, fruits are harvested in the hand from February till July to extract the essential oil from it by cold expressions of the fruits' pericarp. The harvest begins with the green mandarin, followed by the red mandarin to finish by the yellow mandarin.
